When You Outgrow Your Old Life

If closets could talk, mine would tell you about the girl who once lived here. The one who chased the latest fast fashion and built her endless collections of Louis Vuitton bags. These pieces made sense to her. They made her feel sexy, playful, witty and beautiful.But that version of me belonged to another chapter.

This morning as I lay in bed staring at my closet,I realized I made the mental commitment to part ways with my expensive bags… One part of me felt relieved but the other part felt sad. Letting them go leaves me with both emotions yet it also gives me the one thing I didn’t know I need… space for what’s next..

I know I am not the only one who has looked at a closet and felt the weight of old chapters staring back. Maybe you still have that dress you wore to every party, or the bag you thought would make you feel powerful, or the shoes that carried you through nights you will never forget. We all hold onto things that remind us of who we once were, even when we know they no longer belong to the woman we are today.
